Can We Eradicate Pollution from the Environment?

ICE vehicles emit harmful toxins that pollute the air, like nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons. The internal combustion process produces these toxins, emitting them out of the tailpipe and into the environment for all to breathe in. Nitrogen dioxide, one of the toxins, is responsible for over 50,000 premature deaths in Europe. It's a major problem in large, dense urban areas there residents walk on streets close to cars and buses. Other chemicals like benzene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are also emitted from the combustion process, and are known cancer-linked toxins.

In the US, ICE cars and trucks account for nearly one-fifth of all US emmissions, emitting around 24 pounds of carbon dioxide and other gases for every gallon of gas. The eradication of toxic pollution is the number one goal for Autel, and the best way to achieve this is to encourage the transition to electric vehicles.

When drivers make the switch to electric vehicles, these toxic gases are not emitted from the vehicle since there's no engine and no combustion process takes place. Electric vehicles pollute twice as less than the average ICE car, making it a safer option for the environment than ICE vehicles. However, the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is not yet mature enough for widespread adoption to take place. Autel is accelerating the switch to electric vehicles by building out the much-needed EV charging infrastructure in both urban and rural areas alike around the globe.

Autel manufactures electric vehicle chargers for all scenarios, including small home chargers, medium-sized commercial chargers, and large DC fast and high power chargers for charging stations and public lots. Our vision of a pollution-free world drives us to create solutions for all, and that has resulted in the most robust, highly-reliable EV chargers we have launched in recent years.

Green Energy Powers the Future

Building out EV charging infrastructure is the best way to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles. But more charging stations place a heavier strain on electrical grids, grids that generate 63.3% of their electricity from fossil-fuels like oil, coal, and gas. Therefore, the world needs to create solutions that 1) reduce the strain on the electrical grid and 2) produce cleaner energy.

Autel is developing a vehicle-to-grid EV charger that can help reduce the strain on the grid. This charger, dubbed the vehicle-to-everything, or V2X, charger, can be used in the home to take an electric vehicle's energy and transfer it to the home in case of a power outage or even high electricity prices. In innovative cases where electrical grids allow, the vehicle's energy can be sent back to the grid itself. The utility company would pay for the sent-back energy, helping the homeowner greatly reduce his or her electricity bill, and providing assistance to grids that are constantly sending out their electricity. Workplaces with thousands of employees, for example, can install V2X chargers and send energy to the grid during work hours, helping the grid balance out its electricity distribution, while also making sure vehicles are fully charged by end-of-day for drivers.

Autel's home chargers are also compatible with a solar panel network. Autel has developed its own Home Energy Management System (HEMS), a completely green solution for homeowners to use solar energy from the home's solar panels to charge their electric vehicle. The system comes with an inverter, an energy storage pack, and a controller, and connects with the MaxiCharger to deliver solar energy to the vehicle. It converts high voltage solar energy into lower voltage energy that can be stored for later use with the vehicle or with the home in case of power outage or as the main electrical supply for the home. Solar energy is prioritized, helping pave the way towards a green energy future. Given that global electricity demand is expected to increase five to seven times from current levels by 20304, solar and other green energy sources must be prioritized.

In time, our system can be in higher electrical demand scenarios, such as office buildings or even grids themselves as a mega-watt solar energy supply system, generating clean energy for grids, eliminating the need for fossil-fuels, and eradicating toxic pollutants from our precious environment.

Clean Solutions Start with Clean Manufacturing

Autel operates two manufacturing plants, one in Shenzhen, China, and the other in Vietnam. Factories are important to the overall success of our mission. If our factories are polluting the environment, then we can not achieve a fully green future. Therefore, we invest in the sustainability of our factories by ensuring a healthy and safe atmosphere, with minimal pollutants. Autel's factories are set up so as not to need air purifiers, sewage treatment, or noise protection devices, as these three wastes are all avoided through efficient and sustainable operations.

Products are another opportunity to contribute to a greener future. Product packaging incorporates recyclable air pillows and fillers, and the products themselves are built using high-quality components and parts, including the use of recyclable metals and plastics. Consumers can rest assured the products they purchase can be used beyond 10 years, and that they will not eventually end up in a landfill.
